Membership Protocol

Protocol for becoming a member of the Big Lost River Ground Water District:

When people request to register (annex) lands in to the BLRGWD, back assessment will be evaluated and charged as follows:

If the subject lands have never been registered in the BLRGWD, back assessments will be calculated as the cumulative amount those lands would have been assessed, beginning when the BLRGWD began issuing assessments.
b. If the subject lands were previously withdrawn from the BLRGWD, back assessments will be calculated as the cumulative amount those lands would have been assessed since the last assessment was paid.
c. If lands are sold to a new entity, back assessments that would have accrued to the previous owner will be waived, and back assessments will be calculated as the cumulative amount those lands would have been assessed since the new entity purchased the lands.

A new entity shall be defined as a registered change in ownership of the lands with the county assessor’s office. Therefore, land being passed through Trusts and/or Ranches with new managers will not be considered a change in ownership.
